How We Started
Built by Canadians Who Were Done With Filler-Loaded Vapes
Back in 2019, the vape market was a mess. Brands were cutting their cannabis oil with MCT oil, vegetable glycerin, and propylene glycol — cheap additives that increase volume without adding value. Worse, many brands were adding Vitamin E acetate, which was later linked to a severe lung disease outbreak called EVALI that hospitalized hundreds of people across North America.
We decided to do something about it. We partnered with a lab that could perform supercritical CO2 extraction — the cleanest extraction method available — and committed to a simple rule: nothing goes into our oil that isn’t cannabis-derived.
We started small. A few hundred orders a month, shipped in plain envelopes. Word spread — because customers could genuinely taste and feel the difference. Reviews started coming in. CO2 extraction uses pressurized carbon dioxide to pull cannabinoids and terpenes from cannabis without chemical solvents. The result is purer oil, preserved terpenes, and zero solvent residue. It’s more expensive to produce — which is why most brands skip it. We don’t.
What Are Terpenes?
Terpenes are the natural aromatic compounds in cannabis that shape both flavour and effects. They’re fragile — many extraction methods destroy them. CO2 extraction preserves them intact, which is why LiT oil smells and tastes like real cannabis, not chemicals.
The EVALI Connection
In 2019, a lung disease called EVALI (e-cigarette or vaping product use-associated lung injury) was traced directly to Vitamin E acetate — a cutting agent used widely in cheap vape cartridges. LiT has never used Vitamin E acetate in any product, from day one.
Lead-Free Hardware
Our cartridge hardware is independently tested for lead and heavy metal contamination. Cheap hardware can leach metals into the oil during use. We only source from hardware suppliers who pass our standards.
Third-Party Lab Testing
Every batch of LiT oil is tested by an independent third-party lab for cannabinoid potency, pesticide residue, residual solvents, and heavy metals before it ships. We don’t self-certify — we verify.

Every production batch is tested by an independent lab — not us — for cannabinoid potency, pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals. Nothing ships without a passing report.
CO2 Extraction Only
We use supercritical CO2 extraction exclusively. No butane, ethanol, or other chemical solvents. This preserves the full terpene profile and ensures zero solvent residue in the final product.
Zero Filler Policy
No MCT oil, no propylene glycol, no vegetable glycerin, no Vitamin E acetate. Our oil contains two ingredients: cannabis-derived cannabinoids and cannabis-derived terpenes. Nothing more.
Lead-Free Hardware
Every cartridge body, mouthpiece, and coil we use is tested for lead and heavy metal contamination. We only source from hardware suppliers that pass our standards.
Discreet Packaging — Always

Four Common Vape Fillers — Banned From LiT Forever
These are the four most commonly used cutting agents in cannabis vape oil. All four are absent from every LiT product, in every batch, with no exceptions.
MCT Oil
Medium-chain triglyceride oil — a coconut-derived filler used to increase oil volume cheaply. When inhaled, it can cause lipid pneumonia and reduces potency per puff.
Propylene Glycol (PG)
A chemical thinning agent borrowed from conventional e-cigarettes. At vaping temperatures, PG can decompose into toxic compounds including propylene oxide and acetaldehyde.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG)
A thick carrier liquid used to bulk up oil volume. When heated to vaping temperatures, VG produces potentially harmful aldehydes including acrolein — a known respiratory irritant.
Vitamin E Acetate
Identified by the CDC as the primary cause of the 2019 EVALI outbreak — a lung illness that hospitalized over 2,800 people in North America. LiT has never used it, from our very first product.
